Tuesday Night Live – Party for a Pound
13th December 2011
A mash up of club DJ’s and live rock bands dominated the Guildhall stage in the run up to Christmas, the launch of a new night for locals at just a pound entry.
There was a modest alternative crowd that flooded in to watch their favourite bands, Dead Pinups and headliners Tricorn, who all willingly took to the dance floor. DJ’s included Chaos and Waster resident and Delight pioneer Will Chump alongside Dark, Hardcore Raver and Energize co-creator and previous Contact resident Juli C supplying electro, commercial dance, chart, drum & bass and party tunes, with additional big room club sound support from newcomer Dax Smooth.
The night included a cross dressing competition to which the men in question took too enthusiastically as they modeled their thronged boxers, hand bags and stolen bra’s. Tuesday Night Live was hosted as a ‘live show’ style via the main stage by Juli C and Live & Unsigned and Clublife TV presenter Jon Brown. Produced and promoted by Juli’s entertainment service outlet Dex – N – FX and supported by Mayhem.
The bands didn’t disappoint on looking fans and those new to their music with a hard hitting original rock set and the odd cheeky cover. A great night for any locals or students looking for a quality budget night out. We hope to see more events like this at The Guildhall in the future.
